We love brands that #GoGreenWithGrazia, and high-street fave Mango has just joined the list, thanks to the launch of its sustainable range. Created in collaboration with environmental experts, Mango Committed developed new technology to reduce the consumption of water, energy and chemicals.
Organic Cotton Trousers, Dhs249
The collection is designed using recyclable fabrics, with the sustainability element reflected through earthy tones and soft silhouettes (perfect for catching that summer breeze – or summer sandstorm, depending on where you live). Mango also aims to reduce the harmful impact fashion has on the planet by using only organic, naturally sourced cotton.
Not only are they using sustainable materials for the Mango Commited collection, but they’ve been helping the environment in other ways, too. In fact, Mango has already reduced its water consumption by a whopping four million litres.
They’ve also developed the Better Cotton Initiative to encourage the use of sustainable cotton farming techniques, which not only guarantees worker safety, but also reduces water consumption. And it gets better – over half of the upcoming AW19 collection’s jeans will be sustainable. That’s what we like to hear.
And just to make sure we’re doing our bit, Mango’s Second Chances project lets customers bring used clothes and footwear back to Mango stores, where they’ll be sent out for reuse, recycling or energy generation.
