What do you get if you combine the comforts of apartment-living with the sophistication of a boutique hotel and the perks of a private members club? London’s The Other House South Kensington.
If you’re heading to the UK capital for Eid Al-Adha, or if you’re a Kensington frequenter during the summer months, this property was practically made for GCC travelers who value privacy, style, and comfort. Each room – known here as ‘Club Flats’ – offers a self-contained space with a living area, kitchenette, and bedroom – ideal for those who prefer a home-like atmosphere over traditional hotel stays. With discreet service, secure access, and the freedom to come and go without interruption, guests can enjoy London on their own terms.

Designed for both short and long-term stays, The Other House boasts over 200 Club Flats – the hotel’s name for guest rooms –, which come in four configurations: Originals, Class, Vaults and Collection. All rooms boat a sitting rooms well-equipped kitchens, creating that home-away-from-home vibe that is so often craved on long travels.
Situated just around the corner from big-ticket London draws, the Natural History Museum and the V&A, this is one of the capital’s quirkiest hotels. The hotel interiors are a maximalist’s dream, full of English eccentricities. Think chairs adorned with peacock feathers, bejewelled panther heads, whimsical wallpaper in a riotous range of colours, and a gilded array of accents from the parrots perching on lampshades to gold-framed artwork.

If, like us, you’re big Pandora Sykes fans then get your reading glasses ready because the journalist and author is the curative brains behind the literary offerings and collection of books in the library space. The Other House also enlisted the help of model Arizona Muse, who consulted on the property’s sustainability practices. A pretty A-list line-up if you ask us.

But our favourite space? The Keeping Room. This speak-easy-style lounge under the hotel is open 24-hours a day to members (who are allowed to bring a plus three) and guests only. It’s clubby and cool with a fireplace, a piano, and armchairs and sofas in rich velvets. Look out for the three little curtained nooks, which add another layer of privacy to this decadently cosy area.
