The Georges Hobeika Couture Fall 2023 collection was showcased during Paris Couture Week yesterday, and was a dream brought to life on the runway. The father and son duo behind the brand, Georges and Jad Hobeika, created an enchanting and poetic perspective that celebrates self-confidence, femininity, and the “power of dreams.” Georges Hobeika is no stranger to power-dressing and playing with bold colour palettes, but for this collection, titled “Un Reve” which translates to “A Dream,” a different energy was brought whilst still staying true to the house’s signature feminine silhouttes. This time, the creative directors opted for a softer colour palette and fluid shapes and profiles that evoked a sort of gentleness and freedom that one can only compare to a dream.

The show itself was elevated by the presence of renowned Chinese actress and previous GRAZIA cover star Fan BingBing. o strangers to experimenting with difficult and exceptional fabric, the designers’ expertise and exquisite craftsmanship shines through in every piece we saw walk down the runway. From free-flowing silk and duchess satin, to expertly handled crystal embellishments, every fabric was meticulously selected to create garments that exude the certain sexy and feminine energy we’ve all become accustomed to seeing from Georges Hobeika.

The colour palette chosen was dominated by shades of pink, lilac, blue, and green which perfectly complement the dreamlike aesthetic that was intended.

And alas, it wouldn’t be an irresistibly alluring couture show without a show-stopping bridal dress, worn by none other than Saudi-French model Amira Al Zuhair. Georges Hobeika proved that all that glitters doesn’t always shine, as he stuck to matte embroidery for the gown, which had a deep off-the shoulder neckline and a trumpet silhoutte with a long cape cascading at the back.

The Georges Hobeika Couture Fall 2023 collection is a testament to the designer’s ability to create an entire dream world through his vision. With its delicate fabrics, exquisite ornamentation, and poetic motifs, this collection is a celebration of femininity, nature, and the enduring power of imagination. If this is what Georges Hobeika’s dreams look like, never wake us up.
