Gault&Millau was first founded over 50 years ago in France as a restaurant guide by acclaimed restaurant critics Henri Gault and Christian Millau. Today, the company has expanded globally in several different countries around the world, and lucky for us, the United Arab Emirates just made it to the list too.

Known to be a global hotspot for some of the world’s best luxury restaurants, Gault&Millau could not have found a better place to expand into. Gault&Millau works on a 20 point rating system where they award restaurants points depending on the quality of the food and the standards set at the restaurant. Depending on that rating, restaurants are able to display between one to five toques (or chef hats), reflecting their standing in Gault&Millau’s guides.

Last night, ITP held a celebratory launch gala for the new brand under its wing. During the gala, 48 of the UAE’s most distinguished restaurants were awarded one, two or three toque statuses.

The three restaurants that were awarded 3 toques were Al Muntaha at Burj Al Arab Jumeirah, Armani/Ristorante at Armani Hotel Dubai and Ossiano at Atlantis, The Palm. If this accolade does not give you enough reason to book your next visit to one of these elite restaurants, we don’t know what would.
