The Italian luxury house, Fendi, has always been known for its craftsmanship and exquisite elegance, and their latest collection proves that Kim Jones is capable of nothing short of perfection.

Since the passing of Karl Lagerfeld, Mr. Jones was appointed to work side by side with accessories and men’s creative director, Silvia Venturini Fendi. For her, the luxury fashion house is embedded in her DNA; can Kim Jones learn to adapt to the Fendi house without changing his last name?

For his first autumn/winter ready-to-wear collection, Kim Jones stayed true to Silvia Venturini Fendi’s daily uniform whilst adding his touch of chic tailoring and ultra-modern extravagance.

“The Fendi family are women of intellect who work hard – and that’s what I wanted to celebrate,” says Mr. Jones. “A powerful dynasty.” The Fendi name comes with great responsibility. Ever since Kim Jones’ assignment to the brand, he has had a high standard to live up to – and this collection provides evidence that he can live up to the Fendi name.

From mink coats to wool-fringed scarves, Kim Jones’ ability to adapt to the brand’s identity and elevate it is astounding. Unlike his predecessor, Karl Lagerfeld, Mr. Jones’ propensity to create clothes that make women look fabulous without sacrificing comfort is unparalleled. “When Karl played with the Fendi codes, it was always in very clever ways. Not that I’d ever compare myself to him,” he says, “but I’m trying to think of things that can echo that going into the future.”

With the autumn/winter collection comes the much-anticipated debut of the Fendi First bag; and it’s already been seen carried by A-list celebrities worldwide. Kim Jones also plays around with monogram for his jewelry collection, with hairclips and earrings adorned with the distinct Fendi ‘F.’

The latest Fendi autumn/winter collection is now available at all Fendi stores and online.
