Since the start of the crisis in Palestine, the UAE’s deep-rooted value of community has taken on the form of solidarity. Extending beyond borders, that spirit has been felt across the country through its continued support for the Palestinian people. Yet amid the steady stream of headlines about conflict and displacement, the richness of Palestine’s heritage is often left unspoken. Now, the dedicated initiative ‘Emirates Loves Palestine’ is bringing the beauty of Palestinian culture to centre stage.

On August 29, the community initiative will host what is described as the largest Palestinian event in the UAE at Expo City Dubai. Celebrating the nation’s rich heritage with a day full of authentic Palestinian food and live performances by Palestinian artists. As well as family activities, unforgettable experiences, and local businesses owned by Palestinian founders. The event will be selling handcrafted items made with traditional Palestinian artisanal techniques as well as the nation’s cultural clothing. Such as Keffiyehs, thobes, and traditional dresses.

At its heart, Emirates Loves is a celebration of the UAE’s unique cultural tapestry. The Arab world has long been championed for its deeply woven value of community – one ne that has been seamlessly integrated within the UAE, where the essence of its community lies in a rich melting pot of varying cultures. The socially driven initiative focuses on celebrating national unity, diversity, and the many cultures that come together to strengthen the pillars of this nation’s community.  The cause has long been the driving force behind some of the city’s grandest public gatherings and large-scale festivals. The concept celebrates the UAE’s various expat communities, including ‘Emirates Loves Jordan’, ‘Emirates Loves India’, and more. Originally, the concept started as a social media movement in Dubai before growing into one of the nation’s most prominent community initiatives.

Previously, ‘Emirates Love Palestine’ hosted a gathering of prominent Arab social figures to discuss the event, including Asmaa AlSawafiri and author Dareen Shubair. The event itself will include an array of Palestinian stars, including iconic singers Rola Azar and Mohammed Assad, who are expected to perform. Iconic actors Imad Farajin and Mohammed Titi, who have quickly become a dynamic duo in the Arab comedy scene following their television series ‘Faraj’ for Ramadan last year, are also expected to take to the stage. The star-studded list is a fitting reprise for the biggest Palestinian event in the UAE and was revealed days after the initiative began to tease the attending icons on Instagram.

The UAE’s solidarity with Palestine, as well as its array of nationalities, has created a strong sense of community. Now, you can attend the biggest Palestinian event to date for free and experience Palestine’s depth of culture, community and rich heritage.
