Emily Blunt and John Krasinski are one of Hollywood’s most golden couples, beloved by everyone and covered by the press any time they’re photographed together. But, as far as the pair’s two daughters, Hazel and Violet, know, they’re just any old mum and dad.

In a recent interview with The Sunday Times, Blunt opened up about her daughters’ perception of her and Krasinski’s jobs. She began, “if [my children] can remain oblivious for the longest time I’d be thrilled.”

Blunt then explained how she responded to Hazel, one of her daughters, asking her if she’s a celebrity, noting that, “it’s a strange thing to navigate. [She] came home the other day and we were in the kitchen and she goes, ‘Are you famous?'”

“And I’d never heard her… We’ve never said that word in our house. We don’t talk about it,” the actress continued. “Someone at school had clearly said it. I was like, ‘Um…not really, I don’t think I am.'”

Blunt asked her daughter,”Did someone say that to you, Haze?”, which Hazel confirmed but then “wouldn’t divulge much more.” Of having to navigate that conversation with her child, Blunt said, “It’s weird.”

According to Blunt, she doesn’t want her children to know too much about her and Krasinski’s fame as she doesn’t want them to, “feel any more important or special or [feel like] there’s a glare on them any more than other kids.”

In another interview during her A Quiet Place II press tour, Blunt revealed that she had to reaudition for her iconic role as Emily in The Devil Wears Prada because of one major issue with her first take: her clothes.

“I remember being in L.A. for pilot season—or something terrifying like that—and I went and met with Fox Studios, and I was reading for this other project,” Blunt told James Corden on The Late, Late Show. “And just they randomly said, ‘Oh, we’ve got this Devil Wears Prada movie—you want to read for this movie?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, sure.'”

She continued, “But I was rushing for the airport, and I remember just being kind of flustered. So I read it, but I was wearing sweatpants, and I did not look the part at all.”

When Blunt got back to London, she received an unexpected phone call from director David Frankel.

“And he was like, ‘We need you to do it again, but can you, like, not wear sweatpants? Because the studio needs to see you look more stylish—more like the character,'” Blunt recalled with a hearty laugh.

She went on to say that she “never thought in a million years I would get it,” but that she auditioned again and soon got yet another call letting her know the gig was hers. “It all happened within like a week—it was mad.”

Sweatpants? Miranda Presley would never.
