If you ask me what my daily source of inspiration is 99% of the time, I can say Instagram is my go-to. Whether I’m on the look out for new brands to discover, seeking outfit inspiration or on the hunt for a fun hair DIY, the platform has it all. With that being said, after lots of IG scrolling, I’ve discovered these three super easy hairstyles that can easily elevate any look.
From Hailey Bieber’s baby braids to Dua Lipa’s slick pigtails and more, keep scrolling for fun and easy-to-recreate hairstyles that are dominating 2021.
1. baby braids
Celebrity hairstylist Jen Atkin’s is behind this viral hairstyle, and recreating it is the easiest thing. You simply grab two small sections of hair from the front of your head and braid the pieces into two identical, tight braids (it’s up to you whether you’d like a thin and thick braid.) Then, secure the ends with a clear mini elastic for a minimal yet playful look.
2. bubble braid pony
This bubble braid pony only takes a few extra seconds after doing your regular ponytail, but it can completely captivate a look. All you need to do is simply take 2 or 3 elastics, preferably the colour of your hair (so it blends in), and tie it about a finger-length apart from each other. It depends on the length of your hair, but adding a couple can really add character to your look. Flyaways sometimes can be inevitable with ponytails, so I highly recommend doing a slick ponytail with some light hairspray and then applying your elastics.
3. Sleek pigtails
It feels like we haven’t seen this trend since the 2000s, but what goes around comes around, and this hairstyle might be here to stay. All you need to do is part your hair in two sections, secure each side with a hair elastic and slick down or up the rest of your hair – it’s a vibe.
