Prepare your finest fascinators and get ready in your best derby style as the Dubai World Cup is set to take place on Saturday, March 30, 2024.

The gates at the glamorous event will open at 12pm and the first race kicks off at 3.30pm, which is being held at the Meydan Racecourse.

The season was announced earlier and ran between November 10, 2023 to March 8, 2024, preceding the $30.5 million Dubai World Cup meeting on March 30.

As one of the most prestigious horse racing tournaments in the world, the Dubai World Cup was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai in 1996, and continues to be one of the most exciting events in the UAE’s sporting calendar.

Dubai World Cup: All About The Fashion

As the globe’s top jockeys and horses compete for the winning spot, the crowd comes to cheer them on in their best racing attire.

The event is quite a fashion extravaganza and previous editions of the occasion have also seen celebrities, influencers and royalty attend. Women are seen in dresses paired with the most elaborate fascinators and men arrive in perfectly tailored suits with matching hats.

The venue also has a designated area where the Style Stakes event is held on race day, where best dressed attendees compete for prizes.

The categories include Best Dressed Lady, Best Dressed Man, Best Dressed Couple, Best Hat, and Most Creative Hat.

Judges look for style, originality, and attention to detail as well as appropriateness of the outfit for a racing event.

Dubai World Cup 2024: The Official Dress Code

As per the official dress code, guests wearing shorts and flip flops will not be permitted. For ladies, dresses and skirts should be of modest length, falling just above the knee or longer.

Dubai Racing Club website states: “It is the responsibility of the sponsors, horsemen, invitees, and the person booking the tickets to ensure that their guests adhere to the dress regulations. Dubai Racing Club reserves the right to refuse entry to any person considered inappropriately dressed.”
