Low-key dining at Uchi DIFC

Dubai weekend

It’s official: Dubai-based restaurateur Carole Moawad (the creator of the well-known Japanese dessert shop M’OISHI) has finally launched his seriously chic, uber-intimate Japanese restaurant Uchi in the DIFC. And it was well worth the wait. So much more than just a restaurant, Uchi is a convergence of interests, aspirations and cultures – a sanctuary where meaningful interactions and savouring experiences come together. Its dark, inviting space blends whiskey tones of deep browns and rich caramels, with flashes of emerald green Quartzite adding a cool hint of colour. But of course, it’s the delectable menu brimming with sushi, tempura, seasonal seafood, and countless wagyu dishes that will keep you coming back for more. A firm new favourite.

Appealing to foodies, the well-travelled and sophisticated minds, it’s where you can build new, brilliant days and starry nights beneath the sun and capture memories steeped in sunlight. Outdoor dining is relaxed, with boho-chic interiors and sand beneath your feet. Inside, the stunning Balearic-esque interiors and breathtaking views out across the sea and skyline offer a dreamy spot to watch the sun go down. It’s the perfect place to hang out with family and friends, with a Spanish-inspired menu featuring a variety of delectable meals including padrón peppers, patatas bravas, garlic prawns, mouth-watering cheesy croquetas and one of the best squid ink risottos we’ve ever tried. Not to mention sweet treats like churros and spicy chocolate mousse. Word of advice? Arrive hungry.

Treatments and tweakments at Lucia Clinic

If you’re looking for a beauty refresh to kickstart your new year, look no further than the Lucia Clinic – one of the best aesthetics clinics in Dubai. Nestled in the heart of Jumeirah, right across from the Four Seasons, it’s a trailblazer in the world of both non-surgical and surgical treatments, with everything from high-tech facials to Botox, peels, laser and fillers on its extensive treatment menu. The word luce, which means “light, shine, clear, bright, full of lightness,” is where the name Lucia originates, and they apply this definition to the skin of every patient, as well as to the seriously chic all-white space. Just the ticket if you’re after a spot of pampering or to feel your best self this weekend.
