As the emirate continues to navigate some uncertainty, one Dubai salon is choosing to show up for its community in the form of beauty.
SMA Skin, a women-led salon based in Dubai Marina, has launched a complimentary treatment initiative offering ZO Skin facials and K18 blow-dry treatments every Thursday.
Founded by expat entrepreneur Sophia Maria, the initiative was born out of a simple but powerful idea: if the current climate has given us more time, use it to give back.
The initiative is to create “a space where women can come together, support one another, and feel uplifted despite the uncertainty”, Sophia says.
What began as a single Thursday quickly became two, after the first round was met with an outpouring of bookings and messages from women across Dubai looking for exactly that. A moment to breathe and pause.
To secure your spot, all you need to do is DM the salon the words ‘Free Thursday’ on Instagram. Availability is limited, so early booking is advised.
Beyond the treatments themselves, SMA Skin is now looking to expand the initiative into something larger – inviting like-minded businesses across Dubai to collaborate and help build what Sophia describes as “a positive movement” for women in the city.
