Last week, the Arab Fashion Council announced that Italian fashion label, Alberta Ferretti will be headlining Dubai Fashion Week as guest designer for the Fall/Winter 2026/27 edition of the fashion week in February.
This characterises a milestone for the house in the region, as it marks the label’s first full-scale show in the Middle East. Massimo Ferretti, the Executive Chairman of Alberta Ferretti’s parent company Aeffe Group, highlights how delighted he is to be bringing the house to Dubai, “The city’s energy, its cosmopolitan audience, and its commitment to design excellence make it a natural setting for our debuting show in the region. This collection, that will be unveiled at Dubai Fashion Week, reflects the refined craftsmanship and emotional sensibility that define my personal vision of the brand.”
Alberta Ferretti’s story originates long before the label itself. The story starts in 1968, with Alberta herself, who created a fashion boutique named Jolly in Cattolica, Italy. Over time, her boutique gathered a cult following, which allowed her to expand to Milan and debut her collections at Milan Fashion Week.
In 1981, in collaboration with her brother, the designer launched parent company Aeffe, which now holds well-known names in the fashion world, including Ferretti Jeans Philosophy, which later became Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti. Now, the world knows the label as Alberta Ferretti. By now, Alberta’s name is known for bridal wear, children’s wear, sportswear, but most importantly, for her philosophy of sophisticated and elegant womenswear that started it all. Til this day, her philosophy still remains.
Today, the house is a symbol for timeless elegance, refined femininity, and remarkable craftsmanship globally.
Dubai Fashion Week, in collaboration with the Dubai Design District and the Arab Fashion Council, started in Spring 2023 and now occurs twice annually. Evolving from Arab Fashion Week, Dubai Fashion Week has become a pivotal part of the region’s fashion scene, showcasing new collections for both local and international designers.
As a platform for fashion in the Middle East, “Welcoming Alberta Ferretti as our Guest Brand reflects the growing strength of Dubai Fashion Week. This collaboration reinforces our belief that Dubai is not just part of the global fashion conversation; it is helping lead it. Together, we continue to connect the region with the world’s most influential fashion voices,” affirms Mohammed Aqra, the Chief Strategy Officer of the Arab Fashion Council.
Alberta Ferretti’s participation as opening designer at Dubai Fashion Week affirms Dubai’s growing presence as one of the five fashion capitals in the world. This showcases and promotes the existing and growing creative synergies between the Middle East and Europe. A moment GRAZIA and the rest of the region’s fashion enthusiasts can’t wait to witness.
