Ever since it premiered two years ago, Dubai Bling has become known for its drama-filled episodes both regionally and globally.
Following the lives of cast members Mona Kattan, Farhana Bodi, DJ Bliss, Ebraheem Al Samadi, Zeina Khoury, Safa Siddiqui, Danya Mohamed and Loujain Adada and more, it’s become a hit for a reason – from the opulent lifestyles to wild feuds to relationship problems, there is always something to keep up with.
But the question that has definitely been raised amongst viewers: how real is the drama? AKA is the show scripted?
Is Dubai Bling scripted?
This question was actually posed to one of the main cast members’ besties. Kayali founder Mona’s friend and mentor Sima Ved discussed speculation over whether the Netflix reality show was scripted in an interview with Reality Titbit.
“I would have to say almost 95 per cent or 98 per cent of it is real, so I don’t think it’s scripted at all from what I gathered,” the founder and Chairwoman of Apparel Group explained.
In fact, the whole experience was “way better” than she expected, she admitted. “It was way better than I anticipated it would be,” she said. “It was a lot more fun, to be honest. I really thought that I was going to be conscious, asked to do things that were out of my normal character but I wasn’t. They were keeping it so real.”
While it’d be easy to claim the show is scripted, given some of the epic one-liners which have been thrown out in the previous seasons (“You’re like an Alibaba version of me” comes to mind), from the friendship feuds between Farhana and Ebraheem, Safa and Zeina and Ebraheem and Zeina, the feuds on the show are countless. And we’re sure season three will be no different.
Dubai Bling season 3
Dubai Bling has already been confirmed for its third season, with two new cast members joining the Netflix show. However, a definitive premiere date hasn’t been confirmed, but GRAZIA knows that filming has begun for the hit series.
Whilst attending Dubai Fashion Week, we saw many of the stars sitting front row, and the camera crews were in full force, meaning filming for season three has commenced.
With a camera crew following their every move, the blinged out cast gave us little glimpses at the unfolding drama of Dubai Bling season three. Always audacious, the newly married Ebraheem wore a cobalt blue puffer that trailed to the floor. Mona sat close-by, sharing sweet moments with her husband Hassan Elamin and snapping selfies with new cast member Mahira Abdelaziz.
Noticeably Danya was sat far away from her bestie and business partner Ebraheem. In her signature powerful padded-shoulder blazer, Danya sat on one end with the all-yellow Farahana by her side. While Ebraheem sat on the other corner.
