In a glittering ceremony last week, Chelsea Manalo was crowned as Miss Universe Philippines 2024. The Filipino-American will represent the nation at the upcoming Miss Universe pageant in September.

Other contestants who were in the running include Ahtisa Manalo, who was second runner-up, and Victoria Velasquez Vincent, who was a top 10 contender. While parading on stage during their respective appearances, the duo dazzled in designs by Dubai-based couturiers.

During the evening gown segment, Ahtisa wowed the crowd in a daring creation by Michael Cinco. The beaded red number featured a a full length slit, plunging neckline and the dramatic caped sleeves that cascaded onto the ground. For the preliminary round the evening before, Ahtisa wore a shimmering metallic gown with a one-shoulder silhouette, also by Michael Cinco.

Victoria Vincent was also ravishing on stage in designs by Dubai-based, Amato Couture. The first gown was a fully-beaded, pastel blue creation, featuring an extravagant wing design on the bodice. ““The cut is basic to emphasise Vincent’s body proportion,” said Amato designer, Furne One.

For her second looked, she wore a sheer red design with beadwork that magnificently captured the light as she walked.

This isn’t the first time the designers have appeared on the Miss Universe stage. In December, Miss Universe Pakistan, Erica Robin, wore a Furne One design during the evening gown contest, while Michael Cinco dressed multiple contestants and even some judges for Miss Universe 2021.
