The house of creativity and timelessness, Cartier, unveiled Deepika Padukone as their newest ambassador on Monday, October 3rd, 2022. Padukone has won the hearts of many over the years with her exceptional performances as a Bollywood actress and as a renowned philanthropist who tirelessly works to reduce stigma surrounding mental health issues, through her ‘Live Love Laugh’ foundation. This has surely been Deepika’s year as she was selected to serve on the esteemed jury for the 75th Cannes Film Festival earlier in May. Later that month, the French luxury fashion house, Louis Vuitton, also revealed that she will serve as its brand ambassador, making her the first Indian face to represent it. Being the voice of global resonance and as someone who knows the value of balancing modernity with tradition, she surely is the right choice to represent Cartier’s spirit.
There had been many speculations about the award-winning actress being appointed as Cartier’s ambassador after she attended a Cartier event in June. The speculations were confirmed after Arnaud Carrez, Cartier’s Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, announced, “We are delighted to welcome Deepika Padukone to our community of extraordinary talents. As an inspiring actress and committed philanthropist, Deepika embodies the Maison’s spirit and values of celebrating creativity, universality and open-mindedness.”
“It is my absolute honor to be joining the Cartier family,” said Padukone in response to this announcement, “and I look forward to teaming up with a house known for its timelessness and iconicity” she added.
Deepika was also featured in BoF’s 500 Class of 2022 list this month, fronting one of only eight covers to celebrate the announcement.
