The much-awaited F1 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit had just the right amount of power-packed and entertainment-filled experience. The race saw a countless number of plot twists, stellar performances and so much more.

wHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT THE Jeddah Corniche Circuit

Designed by Hermann Tilke and Carsten Tilke, the Red Sea’s Jeddah Corniche Circuit has redefined the motor racing circuit landscape by building what’s considered to be the world’s fastest street circuit and stands as the second-longest on the 2021 calendar. This is also Saudi Arabia’s first Grand Prix and comprises 50 laps around the 6.175km circuit.

The circuit also has a 27-turn track, which is more in comparison to other circuits from the 2021 calendar. To put things into perspective, the Jeddah Corniche Circuit contains six more corners than Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina.

 

Winner of F1 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix

The drivers that competed in the thrilling F1 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix included Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, Valtteri Bottas, Sergio Perez, Charles Leclerc, Lando Norris, Carlos Sainz, Daniel Ricciardo, Pierre Gasly, Fernando Alonso, Esteban Ocon, Sebastian Vettel, Lance Stroll, Yuki Tsunoda, George Russell, Kimi Räikkönen, Nicholas Latifi, Antonio Giovinazzi, Mick Schumacher, and Nikita Mazepin.

Dubbed by F1 as a “controversial” win of Hamilton’s start from the pole position, the final race was an extremely close match between Hamilton, Verstappen, and Bottas. With Hamilton taking the trophy on the debut Saudi Arabian Grand Prix 2021 with 26 points. To spare you more spoilers, you can witness the highlights from the edge of your seat here.

The race brings Hamilton and Verstappen to an equal scoreboard with 369.5 points. The season finale will be taking place in Abu Dhabi to finally crown the ultimate winner of the season.

“Hamilton came across Verstappen at the final corner on Lap 43 and pushed him wide at Turn 27, taking the lead and putting in fastest laps to boot for an eventual winning margin of 10s over his rival – equalling the championship points tally,” read the F1 website. “The fallout from Jeddah may well continue through the night, with the stewards set to investigate Hamilton and Verstappen’s Turn 27 tussle after the race.”

On the inaugural night of the F1 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, we saw star-studded performances by Egyptian singer Mohamed Hamaki and French DJ Snake.
