Raising hope, and much anticipation across the Middle East, football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has finally touched down in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In the late hours of Monday, the sportsman was joined by his longtime partner Georgina Rodriguez, their children and his entourage, who were cordially welcomed by his fans. The 25,000-seat Mrsool Park stadium in Riyadh will host him at 7 p.m. on Tuesday for his grand unveil as the newest AlNassr player, according to officials. The Saudi Sports Company (SSC) channel will air the event.

Cristiano Ronaldo was all smiles as he teased his fans in a story he posted ahead of his flight.

His partner, Georgina Rodriguez, also shared photos from her private jet en-route to Riyadh with her followers. The style icon chose a casual look that still managed to exude glam. She matched her Alo Yoga black co-ord set with a fur coat, and an Alo Yoga grey bobble beanie. Rodriguez opted for a statement necklace, and a Hermes Birkin 30 Orange Crocodile Bag Palladium Hardware to complete the look.

After leaving Manchester United last year, Cristiano announced on Saturday that he would be joining Saudi Arabian Football Club Al Nassr. The contract, estimated to be worth more than €200 million ($213.2 million), will last until 2025. His exit from Manchester United came as a shock to many after he publicly criticised the club in a TV interview with Piers Morgan.

The Portuguese striker, who had made an estimated 31 million Euros at Juventus before taking a pay cut to re-join United, has long been one of the highest-paid players in football. Ronaldo has won five Champions League titles in addition to league championships with Juventus in Italy, Real Madrid in Spain, and Manchester United in England.

The nine-time league champions from Saudi Arabia, Al Nassr, dubbed Ronaldo’s signing “more than history in the making,” asserting that he will motivate the rest of the league and perhaps even the entire nation.

The whole nation was ecstatic to welcome the five time Ballons d’Or awardee for the next chapter in his life. Earlier, fans flocked to the stores to purchase Al Nassr’s new jersey, which features his name and his number 7.
