Fresh from the Paris Couture Week runway, Saudi couturier Ashi Studio has been confirmed as the label set to design the cabin crew uniforms for the Kingdom’s new airline Riyadh Air.

With Riyadh Air set to debut in the skies in 2025, the chic uniforms were unveiled last week at an event in the French capital after the Ashi Studio Couture Week show.

“It’s not cabin crew ‘uniforms,’ it’s cabin crew fashion,” declared Tony Douglas, the CEO of Riyadh Air, at the event.

Intersecting the pinnacle of aviation with artisanal couture craftsmanship, the Kingdom-bred enterprises have blended innovation with heritage in their newly launched project.

To officially be worn in practice in 2025, the esteemed Mohammed Ashi, founder of Ashi Studio, has designed a comprehensive collection for Riyadh Air cabin crew. Complete with upwards of 15 pieces, the meticulous fashion pioneer brings premium cuts, fabrics, hues and styles to the aerodynamic realm.

Oozing sophistication and refined edge, the sea of deep amethyst shades and sleek raw silhouettes leave the fashion world in awe.

Pulling in premium cashmere, velvet-soft leather and first-class wool, the new cabin crew uniform elevates aviation fashion to an unexplored tier. Creating three looks for men and two versions for women, each piece allows for ease and movement while maintaining unrivalled elegance.

Intertwining the logo in a discrete, clean fashion, there are up to 10 womenswear pieces including hats, footwear and other accessories. Cutting off right below the knees, the pencil skirt finish on both pieces centres a modern undertone and a modest base. With high necklines, the top features a dramatised elongated cut that ends by the collarbones, while the dress has a sort of draping feminine neckline.

Complete with pillbox hats and board-squared leather heels, the electric amethyst women’s collection simultaneously looks to the future while nostalgically remembering the past. Rooted in aviation’s golden years, the 1950s-inspired silhouette is intermixed with contemporary fabrics and finished. From its boxy shoulder finish to its cinched waist detailing, it remains appropriate to the region’s modest dressing roots, while adding creative twists and elements.

A graceful take on aeroplane attire, the brand-new Riyadh Air makes a fashion-forward statement with its Ashi Studio-designed uniform. Fusing the company’s colourways and styles, with Parisian couture craftsmanship the Saudi trailblazer allows for unrivalled artisanal excellence to glide through the world’s orbit.
