“We love an active Bella,” is the general consensus in the comment section of TikTok videos uploaded by the supermodel Bella Hadid. Per Hadid, TikTok is where she shows “the real her,” which is, apparently, a compilation of drool-worthy cooking videos, BTS moments at photoshoots, GRWMs and even a muckbang at Charles de Gaulle airport where the supermodel ranks different Starbucks items. As one fan puts it, “I feel like I’m in her private story and I luv it.”

Hadid has been posting on TikTok as @babybells777 since 2020, when most people migrated onto the app during lockdown, but that’s not the only presence she has on it. Hadid’s personal account is often overshadowed by the thousands of videos of her or about her uploaded onto the app, from fan edits to random viral audio clips from her interviews. The hashtag #BellaHadid has 7.3 billion views, and she wants fans to know that she is one of them–watching all the content they create about her.

The model recently hopped on a trend about herself, which is based on a viral video of her talking on the phone at a gas station. It’s clear that the paparazzi video was likely a PR setup, with Hadid looking gorgeous while “caught” on 4K, wearing a torso-baring top and baggy cargo shorts to pump gas. Fans ate the video up and quickly created a viral trend about it where they record themselves in a similar outfit (mostly, just a crop top) and pretend to look caught off guard or unaware that they are being recorded. The text over the videos always reads some variation of, “Bella Hadid doing”… whatever it is that they’re doing in the video. It’s absurd, which is exactly what makes the trend funny. Apparently, the model thought it was funny too.

To the delight of everyone, Hadid recreated the trend on her own page with the caption, “caught😍😍🤪😂😘😘🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️.” Showing off her good sense of humour, she posted a second one of her friend doing the viral trend too. “Showing them how it’s done,” said one fan in the comments, with others shocked saying, “HOW IS THIS REAL,” and “I LOVE HER FOR GETTING IT 😭.” We love her for getting it, too, as the saying goes: we stan a self-aware queen.
