After the unfortunate incident that engulfed the main plaza at El Gouna Film Festival in flames, the show is coming back stronger than ever to celebrate its fifth edition.

“There’s a lot of care towards Arab films in the region as well as a strong competition over the inclusion of films in any Arab film festival. Over the years, we have been successful in monopolizing the finest and most prominent Arab cinematic productions,” said Intishal Al Timimi, Gouna Film Festival Director. “This year, we broke a new record with seven Egyptian films participating in GFF while other film festivals face challenges in securing that number. We constantly aim to make GFF a hub for Arab cinema.”

The glorious annual film festival is making its comeback in full force with 75 international and local features, short films, and documentaries. The films that will feature at the El Gouna Film Festival include: Feathers, Back Home, Captains of Za’atari, Full Moon, Amira, and The Sea Ahead.

Egyptian actor and music artist Mohamed Ramadan shared a post on Instagram alongside Wassim Sal Slaiby – the CEO of XO Records which manages renowned musicians The Weeknd, Doja Cat, and more. Ramadan is also set to perform an after-party concert after the opening ceremony.

With a stellar lineup of Arab celebrities such as singer Elyanna, music artist Massari, model and Miss USA 2010 Rima Fakih Slaiby, we’re thrilled to catch more glimpses of celebrity re-unions and impressive performances. Luckily, the wait is over and the nine-day festival has already commenced on October 14.
