Now, as it seems, the subscription model is now being rolled out in the Middle East, as reported by Esquire Middle East.
Following in the footsteps of Twitter and its Twitter Blue subscription model, Meta – previously known as Facebook – announced Instagram users would now be able to purchase a blue tick back in February.
First launching in the USA, Meta Verified has begun to launch across different parts of the globe gradually, now reaching the UAE. According to Arab News, the service has also launched in Saudi Arabia, costing $14.99 per month.
What is Meta Verified and how does it work in the UAE?
So, what exactly does Meta Verified entail? It’s a monthly subscription, reportedly priced at Dhs46.99 whereby you as an Instagram user will receive a blue verified tick, direct support, extra account security and stickers exclusive for Meta Verified members.
What are the requirements for Meta Verified in the UAE?
What exactly are the requirements? You need to be over the age of 18 to apply and be able to provide a government-issued form of identification which matches the profile apply for Meta Verified.
After this, the process it can take up to 48 hours to confirm your identity. But if all runs smoothly, voila! You’ll have that oh-so coveted blue tick.
