Britney Spears‘ former manager Sam Lutfi has released a slew of old voicemails from the pop star that date back as far as decade. The chilling new recordings reveal the singer’s early pleas to end her conservatorship, long before the #FreeBritney movement.

Speaking to Page SixLutfi admitted he had leaked them in the past but it wasn’t until the recent court case that the voicemails garnered attention. Spears’ former manager was blamed for her very public breakdown in 2007 and had three restraining orders filed against him.

The first of four recordings posted to social media hears the “Toxic” singer asking to end the conservatorship. Reportedly sent in 2009, she continues, “I’ve been blackmailed by visitation with my babies by the conservatorship. I’m confined, restrained and stripped of my civil rights. And I demand the state of California to review this case because I feel it’s illegal. Bye.”

It’s reminiscent to Spears’ most recent testimony in court.

A second recording reveals that Spears claimed her father threatened to take away her children. According to Lutfi, it arrived just months after the first call.

“Hi my name’s Britney Spears,” she said. “I called you earlier. I’m calling again because I just wanted to make sure that during the process of eliminating the conservatorship that my father has threatened me several times, that you know, he’ll take my children away. I just want to be guaranteed that everything will be fine with the process and that you guys are taking care of everything, that things will stay the same as far as my custodial time. That’s it, bye.”

The third and fourth recordings (also from 2009) show that the singer had fought to have her former court-appointed attorney, Samuel D. Ingham III removed. It was until mere weeks ago that he was replaced by renowned entertainment litigator, Mathew Rosengart.

In the latest development of Spear’s lengthy court battle, it was revealed this week that the 39-year-old’s agent and long-time friend, Cade Hudson, was threatened by Mr. Spears to stay quiet on the abusive conditions of the conservatorship.

“I’ve kept my mouth shut for 12 + years on Britney,” Hudson posted to Instagram. “After getting thousands of death threats, getting water bottles thrown at my head in bars from bystanders telling me I’m brainwashing [Britney] lm now speaking up.”
