Every October, nations all over the world observe National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, also known as “Pinktober.” The initiative is also observed in the UAE, with women’s health charities and local organisations aiming to raise awareness, including the Al Jalila Foundation, founded by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Raising awareness is important to shed light onto the illness and help us as women understand the importance behind getting examined. In line with this, GRAZIA brings you some of the best Pinktober initiatives to take part in, in Dubai this October.

St. Regis Downtown Dubai

The world-famous luxury hotel chain, The St. Regis Downtown Dubai, will participate in Pinktober. The luxury hotel is running a number of initiatives with one-of-a-kind desserts, themed afternoon teas and opulent spa services, all of which will see a part of proceeds will go directly to the Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation. These promotions will be available at The St. Regis Downtown Dubai for the full month of October in honour of the pink ribbon.

Ladurée

What better way to spend Pinktober than to eat all things pink at Ladurée? Indulge in a scrumptious Pink Afternoon Tea experience at Ladurée with a friend or loved one. Ladurée is offering an afternoon tea experience with brioche buns, macarons, betroot salad and more priced at Dhs204 for two people.

Pink-themed treats are being offered at Habtoor Grand Resort, Autograph Collection and 10 per cent of the sales will be kindly donated to the Al Jalila Foundation to further the cause. These include a special burger served with a pink brioche bun at Sauce, an amazing afternoon tea featuring  pink macaroons at Acacia Lounge and a Pinktober brunch on October 21 at The Underground Pub. In order to further spread awareness, the resort will also be taking part in the “PINKtober Walk” on October 22.

The Address Beach Resort is turning pink in honor of Pinktober. For Dhs300 per person you can indulge in an afternoon tea full of pink savoury and sweet options with a side of tea and coffee.

Fairmont Bab Al Bahr

This luxury Abu Dhabi city resort is taking pink to the next level with their Saturday Pink Brunch with -you guessed it- pink-themed delights as well as an educational session by Burjeel Marina Health Promotion Center. You can even secure free screening vouchers. Also, in collaboration with VOLT fitness, there will be free beachfront yoga sessions every Thursday evening for the month of Pinktober.

MEFORHER AT ME DUBAI

ME Dubai teams up with Al Jalila Foundation, to launch the MEforHER project in support of those impacted by breast cancer and their family during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. During the month of October, ME Dubai will give AED 50 to the Al Jalila Foundation in support of breast cancer treatment and research for each ME Signature Massage booked. Central Restaurant, a Spanish tapas restaurant and bar, welcomes its guests to dine with purpose this October with a business lunch offering. In support of its efforts and support for the cause, Central Restaurant will donate AED 10 for every business lunch booked throughout the month.

Liht Organics Masterclass

Liht Organics is hosting a makeup masterclass at multiple Faces locations, to inform you about the harmful chemicals you might find in your makeup leading to the possibility of cancer. They are also giving away gifts and a free preventative screening for breast cancer and a free consultation.

Sharjah ladies club

Sharjah Ladies Club has partnered with Friends of Cancer patients (FOCP) to offer hair donation services and complimentary haircuts at Orchid Beauty Botique. On October 26, the “Pretty In Pink” event with BRAE, will feature educational talks, hair consultations and free haircuts for donors.
