The beehive and Jay-Z fans alike went into a frenzy after a family portrait of The Carters — Blue Ivy, Rumi, and Sir are flanked by Beyoncé and Jay — emerged on the internet. America’s royal family rarely gives us the inside look into their lives as often as we’d like, so this group photo sparked a new form of excitement on the internet. Parents Beyonce, 39, and Jay, 51, posed with their nine-year-old daughter Blue Ivy and their three-year-old twins Rumi and Sir. The shot was captured by Beyonce’s long-time hairstylist, Neal Farinah and showed Beyonce looking stylish in an all-black outfit, shades, and open-toed heels, while Jay flashed a smile as he posed in a jacket, top, jeans and white sneakers.

Fans were shocked to see eldest daughter and Grammy award winner Blue standing almost as tall as her A-List music star mother. In the photo, Blue is just about reaching Beyonce’s shoulder as she posed in a pair of boots. Popular gossip Instagram blog, The Shaderoom, posted the private family photo and many fans were in awe of how grown up the twins were. One noted, “Haven’t seen Rumi & Sir since the newborn pic.” Other fans also relished the imagery of Black family, saying “ I love seeing a whole, complete Black family.” Twitter, too, enjoyed the glimpse of the Carter family, even poking at the fact that Beyoncé sang her family into existence (the theme song for Disney’s The Proud Family was sung by Beyoncé’s sister Solange featuring Destiny’s Child).

Family is very important to the 28-time Grammy winner and that love even extends to her former Destiny’s Child members. Kelly Rowland recently revealed that when she gave birth to her second son Noah in January, she had her Destiny’s Child bandmates close. Due to the pandemic, they weren’t there in person for the birth, but Rowland said that Beyoncé and Michelle Williams watched from afar on Zoom. “We had our family join on Zoom,” Rowland told People in an interview. “They were able to see Noah come into the world. It was beautiful.”
