Acqua Di Parma
Named after the Italian word for saffron, one of the world’s most precious and rare spices, Zafferano exudes opulence from the very first spritz. Hermès
Capturing the essence of youthful exuberance with a playful and vibrant blend of notes, this new addition to the Hermès Twilly family is bound to put a spring in your step this season. The perfume’s name itself, “Tutti”, implies a joyful and inclusive spirit, inviting everyone to its spicy, floral dance. Created by in-house perfumer Christine Nagel, Tutti has specifically been created with the modern Hermès girl in mind – blending Twilly’s distinctive ginger notes with delicate petals with sweet, juicy lychee and the enveloping embrace of musk. All with a bright, bold ribbon to boot.
Louboutin
When it comes to creating perfumes that take you on an olfactory adventure, Christian Louboutin never disappoints. And with the launch of Loubihorse, he’s taking us on a journey under the sea to bring his underwater dreams to life. “When I was little, I used to love listening to the sea by putting my ear on a shell,” the designer revealed, which is why Loubihorse is all about bringing that magical, underwater world to life. Taking us on a walk (or, should we say, swim?) down memory lane, the scent blends spicy and floral notes of neroli, bergamot and vanilla that sparkle and dance like the waves of the sea. Plus, just look at that bottle.
Ex Nihilo
What better way to celebrate turning 10 than with a beautiful blue bottle brimming with woody, ambery notes and a touch of juicy fruits? Inspired by Paris’s Place Vendôme area, where everything began for Ex Nihilo a decade ago, Blue Talisman embodies the spirit of the brand and its home of the City of Lights. Meticulously sourcing the finest ingredients from around the world, it’s bursting with fresh bergamot and pear, delicate orange blossom and fiery ginger, softened perfectly with musk and amber. Creed
Inspired by the fashion sketches from Henry Creed’s tailoring days over 260 years ago, Carmina pays olfactory homage to haute couture and the movement and grace of luxury, lavish fabrics. Recreating the sumptuous swirls and undulated cascades of his virtuoso designs, Creed’s intoxicating new scent opens with seductive, juicy black cherry and soft, spicy saffron before the warmth of a sensual base of amber, ambroxan and precious myrrh is revealed. Move over LBD, all we want to wear this season is a spritz of Carmina.
Narciso Rodriguez
Fragrances centered around rose are nothing new, but what is new is Narciso Rodriguez’s new scent that captures the essence of the flower in a unique and unexpected way. “I kept dreaming of a rose – the most beautiful rose, yet an abstract rose,” says the designer, who has reimagined the floral fragrance with the launch of All Of Me. Blending rose with the more masculine note of geranium, the bloom becomes “racier, more modern, denser and deeper” according to perfumer Daphné Bugey. With the addition of powdery iris, milky muscs, velvety amber and warm sandalwood, it’s light and airy yet deliciously sweet.
Dior
24 years after Dior launched its iconic J’adore perfume, Francis Kurkdjian has worked his magic and given the scent a whole new golden glow-up. When melted down, gold retains only its purest essence, which is why he chose to isolate flowers and exaggerate them to create a new signature for the scent. “The inspiration was to zoom inside the most emblematic flowers in the composition, enhancing the floral hues,” Kurkdjian explains. “A very luminous white note, then a more rosy note, before a last solar facet that brings out a golden feeling. Delightful flowers, imbued with gold.”
Molton Brown
If it’s a fresh, aromatic scent that will whisk you off to a dense forest full of green that you’re after, then look no further than Molton Brown’s Wild Mint & Lavandin. Opening with the invigorating essence of wild mint harmoniously blended with basil and zesty lemon, a vibrant top note of herbaceous lavandin delivers a powerful aromatic punch. This freshness is contrasted with rich and velvety nutmeg and warm orris rood, with a touch of sweet tonka and earthy vetiver.
Parfums de Marly
Although it might be for men, there’s no stopping us from spritzing this new creation from Parfums de Marly. Paying homage to French haute parfumerie and the note du jour, vanilla, it’s “majestic, subtle and surprisingly fresh“. Opening with a strong hit of rich, dark Bourbon vanilla, it dries down to leave a citrusy, spicy scent on skin that’s perfect for an autumn evening.
Kayali
Speaking of vanilla scents, Mona Kattan has gone and done it again – creating an enticing, addictive new fragrance that celebrates two of her favourite smells – vanilla and oud. Part of her new ‘Oudgasm’ collection, Vanilla Oud is as rich and decadent as its name suggests. Warm, spicy and seriously seductive, there’s everything from praline and saffron to Bulgarian rose and white musk to enhance and complement its star notes.
Maison De Noya
Last, but by no means last in our best autumn perfumes guide, is homegrown fragrance brand Noya’s new creation. Capturing the colourful spirit of the Holi festival and bottling, Winter Sun scent is bursting with notes of coconut, cardamom, tuberose and tiare flowers, on a creamy, comforting vanilla, sandalwood and musk base, to capture the movement and excitement of Holi and of being with loved ones under colour filled skies.
