Supermodel and activist Bella Hadid is never one to back down when it comes to helping those in need.

Throughout her career, the Palestinian-Dutch model has made it clear that she is for the people. From her call to ceasefires across the Middle East and Africa, Bella Hadid is a champion who has sparked change in narratives.

Recently using her voice and platform, she took to Instagram and shared a thoughtful declaration to support those impacted by wars and conflicts. Specifically noting the importance of the cause, the 28 years old shared with her 61.6 million followers her support for the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund, more widely known as UNICEF.

She began her message by discussing what World Children’s Day is about, “Today is a day to promote children’s welfare, and raise awareness.” Amplifying her support she said, “I’m showing my support for an organisation that works to make the world a better place for all children.”

Explaining the need to support the New York-based non-profit organisation, she exemplifies the impact it has provided, “UNICEF has done some incredible work reaching children and families across the Middle East amid the escalating violence of the last year.”

Adding further the devasting effect the wars are taking on the mental well-being of children, Hadid mentioned, “Teams on the ground in Gaza, Lebanon, Sudan, Ukraine and other crisis zones are doing whatever it takes to respond to children’s emotional and mental health need.”.

“No child, anywhere, deserves to be faced every day with violence and to have to fight to stay alive,” she powerfully said on Instagram.

With her positive influence, she invited her followers to help aid the cause, “I support UNICEF’s work to create a world where every child can grow up free from fear, exploitation and violence. I hope you will join me in spreading awareness and showing support.”

Bella Hadid’s Statment Dressing For Palestine

Honouring her Palestinian heritage, Bella has never faltered in showcasing her undying love for her cultural roots. We’ve seen her adorning herself with the pride of Palestine wearing keffiyeh scarves. But taking things in a different light, Bella opted for a specific red and white dress with a vast fashion history you should know about.

A while back during the Cannes Film Festival which took place on May 14, 2024, the supermodel wore a keffiyeh dress created by fashion duo Michael and Hushi— and needless to say, it made a lasting impression on the global fashion community.

The statement-making ensemble featured a strapless Y2K energy and silhouette with layered ruffles. She paired the look with simple red heels, slicked-back hair, and sunglasses.

Originally designed and debuted in Michael and Hushi’s February 2001 collection, The Persian Odyssey, it features a midi dress and an asymmetrical hemline using keffiyeh fabric.

Blending their Western and Middle Eastern experiences into one, the keffiyeh dress mirrored the 2000s American pop-cultural influences and intertwined it with Middle Eastern elements.

Why was Bella Hadid in Dubai?

Bella has had an eventful few months, focusing on her fragrance brand, Oreballa, and enjoying life with her new boyfriend, Adan Banuelo.

However, Bella was recently announced as the global ambassador for the Swiss luxury jewellery house Chopard. So, it’s no surprise she was in town to inaugurate their new flagship boutique in Dubai.

Just recently, she was joined by Caroline Scheufele, Chopard’s Creative Director, for a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Dubai Mall. Afterwards, the two toured the boutique, meeting with industry guests and clients, including two adorable young “princesses.”
