AlUla Moments is back for 2023/24. To kickstart the busy year of activations in AlUla is AZIMUTH.
Taking place from September 21 to September 22, 2023, the festival coincides with Saudi Arabia’s National Day celebrations and this year is set to be the biggest instalment of the festival yet.
Located in the same stunning desert canyon which hosted “Sarab”, the site responsive art exhibition of Desert X AlUla 2022,the weekend music festival is preparing for a star-studded line-up of performers, some of which have just been unveiled. Legendary British band The Kooks will take to the stage, as well as South Korean, Berlin-based DJ Peggy Gou.
Other international names include Jorja Smith, Chet Faker, Shkoon and more. They will perform alongside exceptionally talented individuals from the region including Saudi-born DJ and producer Nooriyah, Dish Dash, Baloo, KAYAN, and numerous others.
Festival-goers won’t only be there to immerse themselves in the musical performances, but also the wealth of culture and art installations, as they marvel amongst the ancient civilisations of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Early bird tickets for AZIMUTH start at SAR665 (Dhs651) for a single day pass and SAR1190 (Dhs1165) for the two-day weekend pass. You can discover all of the packages here.
WHAT TO WEAR
Of course, no festival is complete without the right fashion, something which Saudi designers know how to deliver on. AZIMUTH itself is a hub for empowering the Saudi creative scene, which is reaching new heights on a global scale.
Streetwear brands like 1886, founded by Saudi entrepreneurs Fahad Al-Jomiah and Khalid Al-Jammaz, and Proud Angeles, founded by Mohammed Bajabaa fusing the craftsmanship of the Kingdom and the creativity of Los Angeles, both bring a new edge to the country’s fashion scene, also making for the perfect festival attire. Meanwhile, Saudi jewellery brands like Lilian Ismail and Dalal Jewelry fuse heritage of regional craftsmanship with a modern take on their pieces, ideal for accessorising an AZIMUTH look.
During a music festival you naturally want to look your best, but also want to be comfortable. So, opt for a pair of kicks by Saudi Arabia’s first sneaker brand, The Nou Project, ensuring you’re chic, yet practical when it comes to your festival fashion choices. Meanwhile, for your abaya, keep it elevated yet light and airy with a Noura Sulaiman linen abaya.
To ensure your packing list for AZIMUTH is GRAZIA-approved, our editors have curated the very best Saudi designers and brands to wear while you dance your heart out amongst the incredible AlUla landscapes.
