Lebanon’s legacy of couture craftsmanship and trailblazing design just secured its next chapter, and, of course, the industry is taking notice.

The Arab Fashion Council and Lebanon’s Ministry of Economy and Trade have officially launched the Fédération Libanaise de la Mode, an initiative dedicated to cementing the country’s position as a global fashion powerhouse.

The announcement follows an agreement signed in 2022, reinforcing a shared commitment to empowering Lebanese designers and expanding their global footprint.

Lebanon’s rich influence in haute couture and ready-to-wear means this Federation is focused not only on fashion but also on cultural preservation and economic revitalisation.

Jacob Abrian, CEO of the Arab Fashion Council, called it a “testament to unifying Arab talent.” He added, “Lebanon has long been an epicentre of creativity and inspiration in the region. With this Federation, we safeguard that legacy while propelling Lebanese designers onto the global stage.”

Meanwhile, the Minister of Economy and Trade, His Excellency Amine Salam highlighted its potential to drive creative economy growth: “The Fédération Libanaise de la Mode will be an important vehicle to build a diversified creative economy in Lebanon, empowering designers to achieve international acclaim.”

And it’s no wonder—fashion has long been one of Lebanon’s most powerful catalysts. As such, the Federation will only amplify and introduce initiatives that connect designers with international investors, opening doors to new markets and opportunities.

This collaboration between government and industry leaders underscores Lebanon’s resilience, channelling its rich heritage into a force for innovation.

We can expect to see Lebanese designers celebrated and empowered with global influence, proving that Lebanon’s place in the fashion world isn’t just enduring—it’s ever-evolving.
