George Clooney is one of Hollywood’s most esteemed and celebrated actors. Still, even he knows that since he married human rights attorney Amal Clooney – especially when the pair are on the red carpet together – he’s reduced to being simply ‘Amal’s husband.’
A perfect example of such was the couple’s recent date night outing on Saturday evening for the Kennedy Centre Honours. Never one to shy away from a fashion moment – even when it’s darting between meetings in New York City – Amal upped the ante, wearing an incredible off-the-shoulder silver sequin gown by Valentino.
Clooney paired the dress, which is floor-length and figure-hugging, with silver accessories, including a glittering silver clutch, silver heels, diamond drop earrings and a bracelet cuff. She wore her long brunette hair in her signature waves and added red lipstick. Meanwhile, Clooney, who stars in the new rom-com Ticket to Paradise alongside Julia Roberts, wore a black tux.
Back in March, the UN Goodwill Ambassador opened up to TIME magazine about her life with the actor and raising the pair’s five-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander Clooney.
“Marriage has been wonderful. I have in my husband a partner who is incredibly inspirational and supportive, and we have a home filled with love and laughter,” she told the magazine. “It is a joy beyond anything I could ever have imagined. I feel so lucky to have found a great love in my life, and to be a mother — this is how I get my balance.”
