Alana Hadid, the eldest sister of supermodel sisters Gigi and Bella Hadid, has long used her platform as a dedicated advocate and voice for Palestine.
A cause rooted in her family’s history, Alana’s activism centres on amplifying Palestinian voices. Through her podcast, The Seeds, she creates a space for dialogue and lived experiences, placing narrative at the heart of resistance. And now she’s extending that support in documentary form.
The 40-year-old, who recently tied the knot to her long-term partner Ross Williams, has joined as executive producer of Seeds for Liberation, alongside Donna Hadijkhani. The feature-length documentary by Matthew Solomon emphasises the fundamental right of Palestinians to tell their stories and gives them a platform to do so.
An educational tool for curious audiences, the firm highlights voices advocating for a free Palestine. Shot on two iPhone 16 devices throughout the spring and summer of 2025, the film documentary brings together 20 prominent figures, illustrating the power of collective storytelling and shared resistance. Spotlighting the importance of individuals and communities standing together, the documentary places the Palestinian struggle in conversation with other liberation movements around the world.

In 2024, she became the creative director of Watermelon Pictures, a film production and distribution company grounded in creative resistance. Championing unheard voices, the company stands up against injustice and fights for a liberated future through cinema.
However, Alana recently announced she was stepping away from her creative director role as “there was no longer funding available to support my role in its current form. While that decision wasn’t mine, choosing to step away ultimately was”.
“As a Palestinian, I believe deeply in the value of our cultural labor, and I carry that principle into every space I enter,” she explained in a statement, adding: “As a Palestinian woman, I am profoundly proud of the space I held in this company and to have been the only Palestinian woman on staff to launch the project was an honour.”
She, however, clarified in a follow-up that she was still supportive of Watermelon Pictures in future endeavours, but that “business is business”.
Seeds for Liberation is set to premiere on January 17, 2026.
