If you long to be transported to an opulent oasis, then the Palazzo Versace Dubai located at the Jeddaf Waterfront, makes for a fine daycay destination.

The grand lobby is lined with high ceilings and refined Italian furnishings – note that each piece of furniture and fabric found in the hotel, was designed and tailor-made by Versace exclusively, even the waiters in the lounge are coordinated, apart from the new-normal addition of face masks and gloves. In keeping with safety regulations, temperatures are checked using a high-tech thermal camera at the grand entrance, and glass partitions are placed at reception, along with decadent bottles of hand sanitiser.

LOBBY

In keeping with the Versace more-is-more family motto, your daycation package includes your stay in a Versace-designed room from 10am to 7pm, a lavish breakfast and a three-course lunch served by the pool. We checked in, and were then directed to Giardino, the restaurant serving breakfast while our luggage was sent up to the suite for us.

Before entering the bright room, decorated with jungle-motif wallpaper and chairs to match, a second temperature-check camera is placed, and masks are recommended while you peruse the buffet of international favourites.

IMPERIAL SUITE BEDROOM

After coffee and croissants, we headed up to the room, where we were met with sumptuous furnishings and luxurious treats. From the oversized bed to the sea-view balcony, the Versace monogram is visible, furthering the lavish lifestyle we got to experience for the day. From 10am till 7pm, the room was ours to enjoy.

We then headed down to catch some sun, where we were yet again temperature checked at the door. There are a few to watering holes to choose from, so decided to spend the morning tanning by the palm trees at the central pool, which looks out to waterfront, parked yachts, and Jameel Arts Centre in the distance.

CENTRAL POOL

When the time for lunch came, we moved to the west of the hotel, were a more secluded pool along with the outside restaurant, Amalfi, is located. The menu allows you to decide between light salads and Italian pizzas – the perfect poolside pick-me-up.

After our skin was sufficiently sun kissed, we retreated back to the room to enjoy its grandeur and watch the sunset from the safety of our balcony. The Palazzo Versace Dubai is an undeniably elegant retreat where safety is just as important as glamour.
