With the creative director shake-up that unfolded in early 2025, we were left with classic Maisons paired with new names. A modern fashion mystery has sparked a wave of question marks: What will Jonathan Anderson bring to Dior? Can Demna revive Gucci? How can Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez beat Anderson’s Loewe? And the list goes on…
With the debut SS26 runway shows taking place in the autumn of last year, many of these questions were finally answered.
Amid growing saturation in luxury, when it felt like every second person had a Balenciaga City or a Saint Laurent Le 5 à 7, the rise of the second-hand market encouraged a return of archival gem hunting. Hinting at a clear revival trend, it comes as no surprise that fashion houses and their new creative directors are looking inward, revisiting and reviving some of their defining silhouettes from the past.
As the newest collections begin to hit stores, we notice many of our favourite archival pieces making a return (and we’re loving it!). GRAZIA rounds up the It-Girl bags that are staging their comeback.
The Lady Dior by Jonathan Anderson

Bringing a sprinkle of luck to the New Year, Dior releases their revamped Lady Dior. A runway show that paid homage to Christian Dior’s original Dior, especially in shape and proportion, Jonathan Anderson brings back the Maison’s roots in his SS26 debut collection. Released in stores earlier this week, this reinterpreted Lady Dior has already become a fast fan favourite. Both familiar yet refreshing, the bag features a pillowy plush bow, clover charms arriving just in time for the New Year and smooth classic leather that remains untouched. An icon that has been reborn into a future collectable.
Bottega Veneta’s Veneta

In GRAZIA’s opinion, Louise Trotter may have delivered one of the strongest debut runway shows in last year’s creative director reshuffle. From refined Bottega Veneta tailoring to their true leather workshop craftsmanship, she made her Louise mark on the label while keeping the brand firmly woven in the existing house codes. Her first order of business? Bringing back the Veneta tote. Reissued in small, medium and maxi, it pays homage to the 1960s Veneta that gained cult status. Remaining relevant decades on, those who won the second-hand market Veneta lottery consider themselves lucky, and now many more can follow that fortune. Truly, Bottega, in history, intrecciato and craftsmanship, it’s another revival bag on our wishlist.
Chanel’s Classic flap

Bringing new rhythm to Chanel, Matthieu Blazy’s SS26 debut show was nothing short of spectacular. Not surprisingly, yet confidently so, he leaned into a quieter and fresher Chanel that makes room for the non-logo, logo trend. From mini night-out bags to ‘carry your whole life’ totes, Matthieu hit the mark. One in particular caught our eye: the reinvented Chanel Classic Flap. A house icon dating back to Karl Lagerfeld’s early days at Chanel, the bag has been part of the Maison’s story since 1983. Now, Matthieu reimagines it with a sculptural edge and slightly stiffened up, letting its leather layers shine. Not in stores yet, we’re eagerly anticipating the day we finally get to try it on, but until then, we’ll admire the eye-candy on the runway.
Gucci’s 1961 revamped Jackie

Gucci’s ‘Jackie’ entered fashion history alongside icon Jackie Kennedy herself. A true ‘Jackie’ wearer, she infamously shielded herself from paparazzi with the bag. A moment in history that became fashion folklore, and consequently, the bag got officially renamed ‘Jackie’ in the 1960s. With a shift towards less flash, fewer logos and a return to timeless class, it was time for a quieter Gucci. And with Demna’s arrival, we’re seeing just that. In early December 2025, Demna’s first collection for the House, ‘La Famiglia’, landed in stores. And with it came the revived Jackie. Slouchy, slightly lived-in and quietly, but unmistakably Gucci, we think it’s better than ever. A new generation for Gucci, this is a bag we know will be worn by all the It-girls.
Yves Saint Laurent’s Mombasa

A true cult classic and long predicted to make its fashion return by second-hand bag gurus, the YSL Mombasa is back, and here to stay. While Anthony Vaccarello is no newcomer to YSL, he continues to inject fresh energy into the brand. Case in point: the revived Mombasa. Spotted on Bella Hadid, she reminds us once again that this needs to be an addition to our closets. A real modern revival, the Mombasa has received a subtle facelift, swapping its original sculptural horn handle for a sleek leather one. Familiar, yet new, it’s exactly the kind of comeback we love to see.
Celine’s Luggage puts on a Smile

Extending the past into the present, Celine’s Luggage tote originates from the infamous Phoebe Philo era. A true It-girl bag of its time, it was carried by some of the decade’s most influential women, including Kim Kardashian, Rihanna and Gwyneth Paltrow. Now, in 2026, it’s back, and many may say, even better. We definitely think so, too. A luggage that smiles, this East-West Celine is a reflection of our mood. Lighter, bigger and edgier, she really is the It-girl. Presented by Michael Rider, who took the helm at Celine in 2025, this revival feels full circle. Having worked at Celine previously, under Phoebe during the creation of the Luggage, this isn’t just any comeback; it’s a homecoming.
