The annual Cannes Film Festival is well underway, and like always, it’s a très magnifique display of high fashion.
The film festival kicked off on May 13, 2025, and the South of France event has once again brought together the world’s A-listers for a masterclass in style. This year, in particular, Middle Eastern brands and celebrities took over the iconic red carpet at the iconic steps of the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès with undeniable finesse.
Naturally, in attendance were a slew of household names that surely enough came dressed to the nines.
The red carpet moments? Iconic. From the grand return of Palestinian-Dutch supermodel Bella Hadid, who stole the spotlight in a custom sleek black dress by Saint Laurent, to Heidi Klum’s two-for-two looks by Elie Saab, and Egyptian powerhouse Amina Khalil in Lebanese brand Rami Kadi and more. Truly an unapologetic display of the finest in fashion.
This year, however, introduced some specific changes to the red carpet. Officially stated on the Charte du festivalier Festival-Goer’s Charter, it was stated that “for decency reasons, nudity is prohibited on the red carpet, as well as in any other area of the festival.” In addition to the new rules, it was also mentioned that “voluminous outfits, in particular, those with a large train, that hinder the proper flow of traffic of guests and complicate seating in the theatre are not permitted.”
Still, with just two days into the film festival, we can only expect the fashion to get even grander in the coming days.
