A few spritzes and a dab on your neck of a typical day-to-day perfume may not be enough to be truly scent-sational.
In the world of Haute Perfumuery, there seems to be an unending cycle of search for an ingredient that stands the test of time. Yet one brand, Henry Jacques, gallantly returns with one classic, but undeniably rich key ingredient: roses.
For Henry Jacques, who recently launched its second edition of ‘Collection de l’Atelier’, it gave birth to a new creation unlike any of their previous, flavourful scents.
In the spring of 2024, the perfumer Maison extracted its 2024 HJ Rose de Mai absolute, which revealed a sap in an orange tint, a sharp contrast from their 2023 HJ Rose de Mai absolute, which revealed a green colourway with a honeyed scent and a subtle hint of spice.
However, for this edition, the HJ Rose de Mai absolute comes in a new, balmy profile, one that envelops the wearer in warm notes of acacia honey, complemented by amber and chestnut tones.

Harvested from their most prized HJ rose field, they unveiled a trio of scents, each bringing the roses’ purest essence to the forefront.
The Rose Alba

Unlike other scents, the Rose Alba expressed the HJ Rose de Mai in a near-perfect whip of powdery mimosa and tolu balsam. With fresh, woody notes of mint and cedarwood.
Rose Trés Rose

A delicate twist from its counterparts, Rose Trés Rose 2024 is an intricate blend of jasmine, iris, the HJ Rose de Mai absolute, with accents of violet leafs. Topped with a rich note of oud and benzoin for a lasting trail, this scent envelops the rose damascena in a rich, odour full of spring freshness.
Rose Zephyr

Unapologetically aromatic, the Rose Zephyr is a refined take of the Maison’s craft and artistry. It envelops the senses with the creamy scent of ylang-ylang flowers, before completely wrapping them in a fruity kick of raspberries and the signature rose damascena.
