This year has marked a slew of public holidays for those of us in the UAE, including a five-day break for Eid Al Fitr, a four-day break for Eid Al Adha and a long weekend to mark Islamic New Year.
And, it seems in 2025, there are still more to come. Fortunately, the UAE Cabinet has unveiled and mapped out the next wave of holidays throughout the year.
Despite the dates being set, it is important to note that religious holidays are subject to the sighting of the moon and will be confirmed closer to the holiday by the UAE government and the local based astronomers such as the Emirates Astronomy Society.

Prophet Mohammed’s (PBUH) Birthday (one-day break)
The UAE Cabinet revealed earlier that the Prophet’s Birthday is expected on 12 Rabi’ Al Awal, which, according to the Gregorian Calendar, falls on September 4, 2025, a Thursday.
Commemoration Day & UAE National Day (Three-Day Break)
Signifying a day to remember the dedication and the sacrifices of Emirati soldiers, Commemoration Day (previously known as Martyrs Day), it is annually held on November 30 every year. In conjunction with Commemoration Day, the following December 2 and 3, 2025, will see the seven emirates celebrate the 54th National Day. On this day, the nation will celebrate the founding fathers and the unification of the emirates to become the United Arab Emirates.
