Mabrook! The iconic Egyptian singer Carmen Soliman and her husband, Mostafa Gad, are celebrating the arrival of their twin daughters.
The couple, who have been linked together since 2017, announced the wonderful news on via their respective Instagram pages.
In a sweet video shared in a collaboration post, the new parents revealed the new twin baby girls’ names – Talia and Tamara.
Fans of Carmen – who made history by winning the first season of Arab Idol in 2012 – immediately filled the comment section to share their blessings and congratulations with the family, including from celebrity friends such as Emirati singer Balqees Fathi, Azza Zarour and Rahma Riad.
The twins were born on February 16, 2024, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
Who is Carmen Soliman?
Born on October 7, 1994, in Zagazig, Egypt, Carmen’s passion for singing and musical talent particularly ran in the family.
Sharing her mother’s penchant for singing, she urged Carmen to pursue singing as a career and enter the realm of TV programs.
However, before rising to stardom, she initially thought singing competitions were not a serious game. In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, she said, “People tend to reward overwhelming emotion expressed as a dramatic performance.”
Despite that, she pushed her barriers and found her love for the stage. She soon debuted as a singer in 2012, becoming the first contestant to win the first season of Arab Idol. Later, she launched her debut album in 2013.
She is quite famous for her releases, such as “Kalam Kalam”, which topped the Arab charts in 2013, and “Akhbari” and “Azama Ala Azama”.
