Fans of the regional spin-off Love Is Blind, Habibi was hit with unexpected whispers of trouble in paradise for two of the show’s rising stars.
The youngest cast members of Netflix’s top-rated series, Dounia Al Ibrahim and Chafic Yactine, may have gone their separate ways—just months after their picturesque beachside engagement.
While no announcement of the breakup has been addressed on their respective accounts, fans were quickly led to believe this was the case after a few telling signs.
Over the last few weeks, the pair seemed to interact less on social media, leading to speculation that they have parted ways because of their dwindling appearances.
Just a few days ago, Dounia celebrated her 26th birthday. The Netflix star posted a series of photos on Instagram showcasing her birthday shoot.
However, eagle-eyed fans quickly noticed that her partner, Chafic, had yet to greet Dounia and was noticeably silent during the occasion. While fans began to worry and speculate, others also noticed that she was not wearing her engagement ring.
One fan commented, “And why don’t I see @chafic_yo giving a birthday shoutout to the wifey?” Another quipped, “Why aren’t the two of them wearing their engagement ring in any video they recently posted?”
Another fan also pointed out, “They’re not commenting on each other like they used to.”
Their last reposted joint interaction on Instagram was earlier in January, which drove fans to conclude that something may have happened within the last two weeks. Although the question of whether or not they have pulled away is still in the air, the pair still follows each other on Instagram.
Chafic and Dounia’s Beachside engagement
Just a few months back, prior to the speculated split, the pair surprised their followers after posting an intimate proposal on Instagram.
They previously revealed their relationship status on the reunion episode, which fans of the two immediately flocked to their Instagram pages to congratulate the couple.
Dounia took to Instagram and opened up about the proposal, which turned out to be a complete surprise. “I wanted to talk to everyone about the beautiful surprise Chafic did for me,” she said in the Instagram story.
Dounia further mentioned it was completely “unexpected” but still, utterly heartfelt. Continuing the story, she said, “Mr Chafic told me that we would be having lunch, and that the dress code was all white.”
“When we arrived, and got closer and closer, he pulled out a bandana and put it over my eyes. I wasn’t expecting anything at all,” she declared.
