In a post-COVID and tech-forward world, a newfound approach to the world of work has emerged, moving away from the typical 9 to 5 in the office jobs.
The UAE has always ensured to accommodate the needs of its residents, especially during rainstorms, and now more evidently with the severe traffic congestion.
Taking the recent issues with the traffic flow, Dubai’s Road Transport Authority has revealed a survey leveraging the fact that many are opting to choose remote work for flexibility.
Under the helm of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence, the survey reveals plans and aims to ensure work-life balance by expanding remote work policies.
The survey revealed that 32 per cent of private companies have already implemented new remote policies, while 58 per cent have expressed their interest in expanding to flexible working hours.
Further reiterating the benefit of productivity (which according to the survey revealed a 20 per cent boost) and traffic control, there would be at least a 9.8 per cent decrease in congestion on Sheikha Zayed Road and 8.4 per cent on Al Khail Road.
Noting the relevance of flexible work, His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer said to the Dubai Media Office, “Remote work and flexible working hours are among the traffic demand management policies aimed at achieving balance.” He further stated that integrating such policies in the transport system promotes a much-needed reduction across time and place while promoting sustainable transport options.
Showing Dubai’s adaptability, His Excellency Abdulla Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi also noted that the findings “underscore Dubai’s readiness for future transformations.”
With plans to improve the overall structure of Dubai’s roads, the information collected from the survey acts as a placeholder to make better plans for the comfort and security of the UAE residents.
