Further grounding its step into Dubai, the creative director of the infamous Russian brand, Gala Yudashkin, takes forth the Haute Couture 2025 collection in a myriad of show-stopping innovations.
Never seen before in the Middle East, Gala took the challenge to present the latest collection in a profoundly immersive experience—one that exquisitely blends fashion and technology in a seamless harmony.
Combining her overarching inspiration from painter Olga Kabaeva, Gala muses the hues of the Neva River to breathe life into the icy floes through structured cuts and textures. All the while limitlessly personifying the sky of St. Petersburg unto the bodice.
Never one to step away from the signature design of her late father, founder of the eponymous brand, Gala explores the collection in a balance that showcases Valentin’s trademarks. From complex cuts, draperies and multi-textured fabrics that draw breath into feminine silhouettes and ingrain appliqué in a form that reminisces ice crevices.
Each piece, evidently crafted with perfection and finesse, leaves no room for question when accentuating Gala’s ingenuity to trends with the new fabrics implemented for the season. Keeping in mind the silhouette, the couture collection embraces fabrics that harmoniously convey the colour transitions of the sky and of the multi-coloured ice in organza, silky chiffon and unapologetic velvets in blues.
With Gala’s expertise and vision, she paid particular attention to the accessories, a specially made set of rings and earrings that visualise the frozen fragments of paintings forged in glass in an array of dimensions. In doing so, Gala complements the collection’s watercolour prints and calculated cuts of the fabrics with embroidered crystal beads and sequins that envelop the outlines of the dresses.
Submerging guests in a melodious tune and delivering an experience where art stemmed from the walls, Gala Yudahskin’s unwavering art form to put together a never-seen-before show triumphed her passion to bring a new sense of fashion to Dubai’s riveting city.
