The highly anticipated sixth edition of Fashion Trust Arabia took place last night, unveiling its 2024 winners. The ceremony was held at the historic El Badi Palace in Marrakesh, blending fashion with the rich cultural heritage of the region. Stars from the Middle East and beyond came together to celebrate this special evening, showcasing the unique and diverse regional talent.

Fashion Trust Arabia is a non-profit organisation and the first of its kind in the Arab world, serving as a vital platform for emerging designers in the Middle East and helping them gain international recognition. Additionally, winners receive prizes ranging from £100,000 to £200,000, a year-long internship with The Bicester Collection, and an opportunity to showcase their work at Harrods for a season, among many others.

With HH Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser as honorary chair and co-chairs HE Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad Al-Thani and Tania Fares, Fashion Trust Arabia awarded seven winners across various categories, including ready-to-wear, evening wear, jewellery, accessories, fashion tech, the Franca Sozzani Debut Talent Award, and the Guest Country Designer Award.

The winners of Fashion Trust Arabia 2024 Awards were selected by a judging panel that included well-known industry figures such as Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad, accessories designer Amina Muaddi, and Balmain’s creative director Olivier Rousteing. 

Evening Wear Winner: Yasmin Mansour

Yasmin Mansour, the founder of her eponymous brand since 2014 in Qatar, redefines luxury fashion with an avant-garde twist. Her designs merge high-quality materials with innovative layering, showcasing bold sophistication and a commitment to ethical craftsmanship. Yasmin’s collaborations further highlight her creative vision and dedication to authenticity.

Ready-to-Wear Winner: Nadine Mosallam

Nadine Mosallam launched her namesake womenswear label in August 2020, splitting her time between Cairo and London. Her pieces, inspired by her Egyptian heritage, celebrate the natural curves of the body and embody her belief in ethical, accessible fashion. Nadine’s designs reflect femininity and beauty in everyday life.

Accessories Winner: Reem Hamed

Reem Hamed is the Egyptian designer behind RAMLA, a footwear brand she founded in June 2017. Committed to reviving traditional craftsmanship, Reem creates minimalistic yet striking designs that empower women artisans and celebrate Egyptian culture, blending sustainability with style.

Jewellery Winner: Noura Abdulaziz Al Saud, Sara Naif Al Saud, and Mashael Khalid Al Saud

Noura, Sara, and Mashael are the founders of APOA (A Piece of Art), a jewellery brand launched in 2023 in Riyadh. Their collections reflect a blend of Saudi heritage and contemporary design, with the first collection paying tribute to pearl diving, showcasing their rich cultural roots.

Franca Sozzani Debut Talent Award Winner: Sylwia Nazzal

Sylwia Nazzal founded Nazzal Studio, a brand rooted in Palestinian heritage and activism. Her graduate collection, “What Should Have Been Home,” gained global recognition after the events of October 7, 2023. Sylwia prioritises ethical practices and collaborates with refugee women to amplify marginalised voices through fashion.

Fashion in Tech Award Winner: Batoul Al-Rashdan

Batoul Al-Rashdan is the creative force behind Studio B.O.R., a Fashion Tech brand that blends design, sustainability, and innovation. Renowned for using bio-based materials from food waste, her work incorporates cutting-edge technologies like 3D printing, showcasing the rich heritage of Jordan through unique designs.

Guest Country Spain Winner: Xavi García and Franx de Cristal

Xavi García and Franx de Cristal are the minds behind ACROMATYX, which evolved from their previous brand, 44Studio. Launched in 2021 in Madrid, ACROMATYX combines elegance with avant-garde style, advocating for artisanal tailoring and sustainable practices while creating emotionally resonant pieces for inclusive fashion.
