One such individual that fell victim to this as of late is Her Highness Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani of was recently forced to take to social media to put a stop to some “fake news”.

The Qatar royal has been in Paris for the last few weeks for the 2024 Olympics, which is when reports began to surface the sheikha had fallen victim to a theft.

Various reports by French local media alleged Sheikhja Al Mayassa had 11 Hermès Birkin bags stolen during her time at the Paris Olympic Games 2024.

According to Doha News, French media outlet, Le Parisien, published an article around the time the Olympic Games started. Noting that the alleged theft happened on July 27, 2024.

The speculation centred around the coveted Birkin bags, along with an assortment of valuable jewellery and luxury watches, which were supposedly stolen while en route to Paris on a train.

The Qatari royal, known for her profound influence in the worlds of art and culture, decisively responded to these claims, which had gained considerable attention in the media.

In a direct and concise manner, she reposted the claims with a simple caption: “Fake news.”
