Her Highness Sheikha Mahra bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has broken her silence following the divorce statement that was posted to her official Instagram page.
Taking to the social media platform, the daughter of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, shared a photograph of herself and her daughter, Mahra, who she gave birth to back in May.
The photograph depicted the doting royal mother cradling baby Mahra in front of a portrait of a horse. Sheikha Mahra simply captioned the post with a white love heart.
The Dubai princess’ latest post comes five days after a post shared on her official Instagram account cited a short divorce statement appearing to be directed to her husband His Highness Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum.
The social media post from Sheikha Mahra’s verified Instagram account read: “Dear Husband, As you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you. I divorce, and I divorce you. Take care. Your ex-wife.”
It has since gone viral, receiving over 500,000 likes and garnering nearly 50,000 comments. Sheikha Mahra has also gained nearly 500,000 more followers on her Instagram account since the statement was posted.
Sheikha Mahra & Sheikh Mana’s wedding
Sheikha Mahra’s shocking announcement comes just over a year after the pair tied the knot and just over a month after welcoming their first child together.
It was announced on March 22, 2023 by the Arabian Royal Agency that Sheikha Mahra and Sheikh Mana were engaged to be married. Mere weeks later the engagement was confirmed by the couple themselves in an official post with a poem by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Bin Mana Al Maktoum, the father of Sheikh Mana, congratulating them.
On May 28, 2023, the couple exchanged vows for their Katb Al-Kitab, the traditional Islamic marriage ceremony.
Following Sheikha Mahra and Sheikh Mana’s Katb Al-Kitab, the pair had a lavish wedding reception in Dubai in June 2023. On her wedding day, the bride was dressed in an ethereal white embroidered ballgown by Dubai-based designer Ezra Couture.

The announcement of the birth of the royal couple’s daughter was made by Sheikh Mana himself via Instagram on May 2.
Sharing an Instagram story, he revealed his wife Sheikha Mahra had given birth. The baby girl is named after her mother with the same moniker, Mahra.
