What happens when a colour aficionado becomes a hairstyling connoisseur? A master, of course.

Meet Limoz Logli, the co-founder and creative director of his eponymous brand. Despite growing up outside the field of hair contouring, Limoz found his way up to his passion. So much so, now he is known for his impeccable innovation, the countershading technique – a groundbreaking approach to the ultimate blend.

From humble beginnings to being an exclusive hair stylist for London’s elite, Limoz is all about breaking the status quo.

After recognizing the void in healthy hair growth after countless years of hair dye, he perfected a technique that doesn’t change the natural colour of hair. In fact, his countershading technique is revolutionary when it comes to the blending game using a translucent gloss, camouflaging the hair without ever breaking the hair bonds and elasticity.

True to his philosophy, this connoisseur is all about glamming you in the most stunning colours. And we get first-class seats to his salons in Dubai and Kuwait. As part of GRAZIA’s Career Edit, Limoz shares with us his life’s journey.

My current role is…

LL: Co- Founder and creative director of Limoz Logli.

When I was younger, I wanted to be…

LL: A carpenter making furniture.

My favourite subject at school was…

LL: Sports. Sadly, when I was growing up Albania didn’t offer any creative courses within their curriculum, so I found my energies and focused on the next best thing.

My first job was…

LL: I left school when I was 13 years old and was put to goat farming in the mountains of Albania with my father until I left at 18yrs of age. At the time I couldn’t wait to escape that life but now those memories with my father are my most valued, and those years really cemented a hard-working nature, and I am certain fuelled the ambition that still drives me today.

My career path so far has been…

LL: Rewarding!

The role the GCC region has played in my career is…

LL: The GCC region has been my most rewarding experience in any of my international work. Since the beginning have always felt extremely welcome and appreciated here, what I love the most is how rapid recommendations come through. Clients and other business owners are so happy to share their knowledge and recommendations and for such a huge area I am so surprised at the overwhelming sense of community. Clients come to me with the same idea to take the hair back to their natural tone and I feel they understand and respect my work which is enormously fulfilling and enjoyable. I hope to spend more and more time here!

The story of my salon is…

LL: About 12 years ago after a decade of working in salons, I decided to break away on my own and freelance. Together with the support of my wife and business partner, I worked on creating the Limoz Logli Brand started in a private Townhouse in Chelsea with my assistant Nadia who is still with me now. Together we got busy enough that I created a small boutique in Chelsea and grew a team of talented colourists. During this time, I honed my colour technique and created my own Signature Colour. Last year after the madness and reset of COVID my wife and I decided it was time to Bring to life the Limoz Logli personality. We specifically worked with a wonderful interior designer (Emma from Design and That) with no prior experience in designing a hair salon. We worked collectively to create noteworthy interiors that defied the traditional hair salon. Our goal from the outset was to create a unique inspiring space that reflected the seamless and refined colour expertise of our brand. We now work with numerous artists to rotate artwork and installations to ensure our space is forever evolving and inspiring.

I was inspired to enter into the beauty space because…

LL: I had always liked the idea of hair, but at the time it was not really considered a job for a man in Albania. When I arrived in London fresh-eyed, I immediately got an internship at a well-known high-street hair salon. I am still not sure what inspired me to step foot into the salon, and many friends told me it was a poor career choice, but thankfully it is the best decision I could have made, and I am so content.

My daily routine consists of…

6:30 AM: Movement
7:00 AM: Get ready for work within the chaos of 3 kids and now a new puppy.
7:30 AM: Head to work by car
9:00 AM: Start with back-to-back clients until 7:00 PM (hoping for a moment to eat)
I try to leave at 6pm three days a week to hit SohoHouse Gym and this month this has been more successful.
Then home in time to have a glass of wine with my wife.
Then Repeat!
On days off I try to get in a big family walk with lunch out in the country or in Richmond where I feel privileged to live.

My role as Co-founder & Creative Director entails…

LL: Everything creative! My wife and co-founder are the backbone of the business working on operations and management so I have the luxury of developing and honing my creativity within hairdressing; specifically colour, but also creatively across the salon design and branding. I also put lots of energy and love into training and developing my wonderful team. When discussing our brand vision integrity always remains at the forefront. Fundamentally our role as founders focuses on redefining the boundaries of the hair setting and enhancing the in-salon experience.

The biggest hurdle I have experienced in my career…

LL: I think for everyone within the service industry COVID was one of the biggest hurdles. For us personally, it was an 8-month closure for our salon. Aside from that, I would say financing was and can sometimes still be the biggest hurdle. Like with most self-funded start-up businesses, there was a lot we would have wanted to do bigger in the beginning, but we were limited and restricted by our finances. However, as we grow our brand and become less reliant on personal financing, I truly believe those hurdles allowed us to learn valuable lessons about where to focus our energy because we so invested personally it gave more clarity about our vision for the brand. Thankfully our business has grown organically year after year and on reflection we wouldn’t change a thing about the journey even those hurdles.

The biggest milestone I have achieved is…

LL: Creating three beautiful and healthy kids with my wonderful wife.

A quote I live by is…

LL: It’s an Albanian proverb:

‘Çdo njeri ndërton fatin e vet’, translating to ‘Everyone builds their own destiny’.

What I hope for 2024 is…

LL: Personally, I want to balance my time healthier and spend more quality time with my family. Professionally we are beginning to formulate a product to start our own retail line. I hope 2024 is the year to begin production!
