Yesterday we marked a significant day for the El Gouna Film Festival in Egypt. After the event was postponed twice, the sixth edition of the film festival finally kicked off this week to show their support for the growing Egyptian film industry. The star-studded film festival will run until December 21, 2023.

The El Gouna Film Festival (GFF) was initially set to take place earlier in October but had to postpone it on account of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The organisers at GFF later revealed that all special celebrations would be cancelled to show solidarity with the Palestinian people. They also declared that Dhs594,000 will be donated by the organisers as a means to support the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Together with the help of the Egyptian Red Crescent Society and the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development, they can facilitate this donation.

Nonetheless, the film festival was inaugurated yesterday with a special segment dedicated to Palestinian Cinema and also had the likes of Palestinian-Chilean singer Elyanna as the opening act. We saw an impressive list of a star-studded lineup that graced the red carpet with elegant styles not straying away from the dress code.  Keep scrolling to have a look at the sheer sartorial elegance that was displayed at the El Gouna Film Festival.
