Following the release of Pam & Tommy – a series deemed award-worthy but criticised for questionable ethics – Pamela Anderson announced the release of a tell-all documentary earlier this year. A chance to tell her story, in her own way. Now, Netflix has revealed a first look and released date to the new film titled Pamela, a love story.
Directed by Ryan White and co-produced by Anderson’s son with whom she shares with ex Tommy Lee, Brandon Lee, the documentary has been many years in the making and is set to premiere on January 31. The first look shares a series of unseen photographs of Anderson as a child and young adult, to the early years of her son’s birth and more recent pictures.
Anderson shared a teaser of the documentary in March with a hand-written letter reading: “My life. A thousand imperfections. A million misperceptions. Wicked, wild and lost. Nothing to live up to. I can only surprise you — Not a victim, but a survivor & Alive to tell the real story.”
Netflix also said in a statement in early 2022 that Pamela, a love story, “has been in the making for several years, and will feature the pop culture icon setting the record straight as she looks back on her professional path and her personal journey.”

Anderson never directly addressed the Hulu series Pam & Tommy but according to a source for Entertainment Tonight, the actress found it “painful” to relive.
“It is shocking that this series is allowed to happen without her approval,” an insider told the outlet. “Pamela has no regrets about her life, but the only thing she would probably erase is this burglary. She feels so violated to this day. It brings back a very painful time for her. Tommy feels fine about the series coming out and is excited to see it. He still doesn’t understand how this incident impacts Pamela differently from himself.”
