On November 3rd, Qatar Creates commences its long-awaited event with the opening ceremony at Doha’s Museum of Islamic Art. Presented with Maison Valentino, celebrity guests donned outfits from the luxury label’s collection. The event showcased 12 artworks from the Valentino Des Ateliers Haute Couture collection by Pierpaolo Piccioli, who also co-hosted yesterday’s event with Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

The reception witnessed celebrities such as Naomi Campbell, Salma Abu Deif, Raya Abi Rached, Jon Kortajarena, Razane Jammal, Mo Al Turki, and Aseel Omran, gracing the red carpet by donning outfits from the Valentino collection.

Qatar Creates’ stellar lineup of events includes the Fashion Trust Arabia Prize 2021 on November 3rd, Virgil Abloh: Figures of Speech from November 5th until March 31st at Qatar Museums, Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams from November 6th until March 30th at M7, Jeff Koons: Lost in America from November 21st till March 31st at QM Gallery ALRIWAQ, #QatarCreates series from November 3-5, and the Art for Tomorrow Talks from November 19-21, and much more.

The Fashion Trust Arabia Prize 2021 took place on November 3rd which saw a series of award categories with 24 finalists. They were judged by a jury comprising Carine Roitfeld, Elie Saab, Zuhair Murad, Alexa Chung, Olivier Rousteing, Virgil Abloh, and Natalia Vodianova, that chose the final 6 awardees. Designers were competing for five awards: Ready-to-Wear, Franca Sozzani Debut Talent, Jewellery, Accessories, Entrepreneur of the Year, Eveningwear, and Guest Country – which were won by Zaid Affas, El Tayeb Nation by Abdelgarder El Tayeb, Alia Bin Omair, Bilal Fellah, Amina Muaddi, Mohamed Benchellal, and A New Cross by Agustin Nicolas Rivero, respectively.
