It’s been a whirlwind of a year for Britney Spears, but things are finally starting to be looking up for the popstar. Just days after her father filed to put an end to her conservatorship, Spears’ boyfriend proposed with a glamorous 4-carat diamond ring.
The couple met back in 2016 and have been loved-up ever since. Spears’ fiancé, Sam Asghari, is an Iranian actor and personal trainer who has been Spears’ back-bone throughout her trial to end her conservatorship, which had given her father control over her life and finances for 13 years. The singer has been married twice before, once to Kevin Federline and another time to Jason Alexander. And yet, something tells us that this time will be different for the star.
The couple announced their engagement with a heartfelt Instagram post which shows a cheerful Britney showing off her diamond ring.
Asghari also took to Instagram to share the happy news with a photo of Spears extending her ring finger, whilst the newly engaged couple shared a kiss.
Although Spears’ father, Jamie Spears, has filed a petition to end his daughter’s conservatorship, another court hearing will be taking place on September 29th to proceed with the case. As of now, the couple are still obliged to request permission from Spears’ father before wedding and with any other major life decision that would affect the singer’s life.
Something tells us that this is the start of a new chapter for Britney!
