Zoë Kravitz appeared in New York City overnight alongside her co-stars for the world premiere of The Batman. Following an earlier appearance from Paris last week in a string of Saint Laurent looks, the actress opted for a custom Oscar de la Renta gown in a fashionable homage to her on-screen character, Catwoman.

The sleek ensemble comprised of a velvet corset column gown while the bust detailed with the silhouette of two cats. The namesake brand shared the making of the dress on social media which was entirely crafted by hand. “A purrfect night ahead,” the brand quipped on Instagram. It’s a fitting tribute to the film, gaining the expertise of a luxury American couturier with the world premiere also held in New York City – traditionally the setting of fictional city Gotham in the DC Comics.

It comes after the actress was photographed last week in London for the UK premiere and in Paris for a screening, both in vampy Saint Laurent looks. Co-star Robert Pattinson opted for Dior on both occasions.

The red carpet tribute to the film is something Zendaya has become known for in recent years too. For both the release of Spider-Man: Far From Home in 2019 and Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021, the award-winning actress pulled inspiration from the superhero. Just some of her promotional appearances included a custom Valentino Haute Couture ensemble and a vintage Robert Cavalli gown.

In a recent interview with PedestrianKravitz, who is a huge advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community, said she played Catwoman (also known as Selina Kyle) to be bisexual. “That’s definitely the way I interpreted that, that [Selina and Anika] had some kind of romantic relationship,” she said.

The Batman releases into Australian theatres from March 3.
