Its show was one of the hottest tickets at New York Fashion Week last month, but it’s easy to argue Zimmermann’s true dominion is more likely a private beach with white sand and crystal water than the busy, practical, impersonal streets of Manhattan.
Because as any fan of the Australian brand, arguably our country’s most successful luxury label on the international stage right now, Zimmerman‘s bohemian spirit makes it ideal clothing for high-style summer holidays.
The fact that the brand has combined its Resort and Swim collections proves it knows what every fashion-lover needs come summer: an eye-catching swimsuit that’s also flattering, as part of a relaxed off-duty wardrobe that’s chic, comfortable and whimsical enough to say, “I’ll take my cocktail by the pool, please”. Draped in the brand’s signature floral print for this season (shown at the top of this story), no less.
This cinematic campaign for the range, which had the GRAZIA fashion team huddled around a computer with hearts in our eyes when the images arrived, was shot by Aussie photographer Benny Horne and styled by Michelle Jank on the private Grenadine Island of Mustique.
“It’s a really small island and we shot at various locations including at The Cotton House, a lovely boutique hotel that combines French West Indies architecture with a casual Caribbean vibe,” Nicky Zimmermann told us of the magical location.
The new collection will be available in-store and online from Monday October 10 and includes a range of relaxed-chic pieces ranging from nigh-waisted denim skirts and jeans, delicate georgette and shirt dresses, cotton voile and crochet cover-ups, plus the usual array of flattering one- and two-piece swimsuits that have been become must-haves for the Aussie fashion set over the past few summers.
Tapping in to the hottest trends in head-wear this season, there are also faded vintage turbans and flat-brimmed sun hats (trust us, both styles will be huge at the races this season), along with footwear including detailed leather mules and tie-up sandals.
Whether your next ocean-side holiday destination happens to be the Caribbean, Bali, the Sunshine Coast or a rock pool at your local beach (warning: the beachwear on display around North Bondi’s Icebergs pool is more high stakes than a fashion week runway some Sunday mornings) it’s time to take your own Resort to the party. After all, you’ve waited all year for this moment, right?
