The Oscars weekend has arrived! As we speak, the stars that typically line Hollywood Boulevard’s ‘Walk Of Fame’ have taken up residence at the historic Dolby Theatre for the 96th annual Academy Awards. This year’s iteration of the Oscars serves as the triumphant end to a historic awards season marred by delayed releases, box office breakthroughs and a successful outcome to the SAG-AFTRA writers strike.
To cap off the year in film that was, Hollywood will gather for their night of nights to fête the best performances from both the emerging and established class of actors and directors working in the zenith of their industry. But before that can happen, stars will take to the red carpet to exhibit their sartorial prowess and officially conclude the press tours used as a campaign canvas to promote their films.
Margot Robbie’s appearance is particularly anticipated. Over the weekend, she, her stylist Andrew Mukumal and Greta Gerwig celebrated the marketing genius Barbie press tour through the release of the Rizzoli coffee table book Barbie: The World Tour. Inside featured never-before-seen custom recreations of Barbie’s most iconic silhouettes as rendered in life-sized format by legendary fashion houses like Schiaparelli, Givenchy and Miu Miu. The 2024 Academy Awards ceremony will take place from 3PM PDT on Sunday, March 10 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles. For those streaming in Australia, this is 10AM AEDT on Monday, March 11.
Channel 7 is the official streaming partner of the Oscars, with a special red carpet round-up happening on Sunrise from 9:30AM. E! News’ full red carpet will be broadcast on 7Bravo before the ceremony plays.
